The Top Five nominees got to participate in a week full of lunch time activities that occurred at 11:30 AM, along with daily dress-up days.

Monday’s dress-up day was “Relationship Status” as the theme was “Love Day” to make up for our missed tradition of “Love Week”. Students had the choice to wear different colors that corresponded with their current relationship status. Red being “dating,” white being “single,” pink being “talking,” and black being “player.”

“Guess the Valentine’s Day Candy” was what Monday’s lunch time activity was supposed to be, but was unfortunately canceled as that time was used to prepare for this week’s upcoming virtual rally and games.

The dress-up day on Tuesday was “Battle of the Classes” representing the missed tradition “Battle Week”. Freshmen and Seniors wore red and/or orange, while Sophomore and Juniors wore blue and/or white.

On Tuesday, the Top Five headed out to the quad for the annual and traditional activity of “Rock, Paper, Scissors” at 11:30 AM! Mr. Coon, the Redwood Ag teacher was the referee of these games, and made sure that no one was cheating keeping everything running smoothly.

During this, paper had to be facing horizontally, and rock and scissors had to be vertical in order to ensure the best outcome. Each game consisted of three rounds. First up was Homecoming nominees, Kristilyn Hetherington competing against Kelsey Konishi. Hetherington struck with scissors the first round gaining one point, and Konishi with rock the next, tying it up. Hetherington then used paper the third round winning the game!

Up next was the next set of nominees, Anyah Tillman and Ahsab Alabedin! Tillman gained one point the first round, then Alabedin making the score one to one, then finally Tillman came out with the win. This round was intense as they both chose the same move three times.

Jersey Hays then jumped in to attempt to beat Hetherington, but Hetherington didn’t let that happen and won once again.

Lastly, it was the final round. The winners of the sets, Hetherington and Tillman stepped up to see who would be the ultimate winner. Tillman beat Hetherington twice in a row making her the rock, paper, scissors champion!

There was no lunch time activity or dress-up day Wednesday due to the fact that no students were on campus.

Thursday’s activity of who won the most spirited “Cowhide” outfit was canceled due to an unknown reason. The theme was “Cowhide” representing one of our most valued missed traditions, “Cowhide”. Students all over campus covered themselves in blue, white, and cow prints for this special day.

Friday’s dress-up day was “Ranger Pride” as this is the day the Homecoming queen will be announced. Rangers all around campus wore everything blue and white to show their spirit. Some students and nominees also wore clothing to represent some of the nominees to encourage others to vote for them.

For Friday’s activity, the Homecoming nominees had a QR-code Scavenger Hunt in the quad! Once the first QR-code was scanned through their phones, a hint was given for a new location that they would have to go to.

There were 15 minutes set on the clock and the goal was to run around campus and find the QR-codes containing the new hints as fast as they could.

Each nominee had to find 10 objects, and once the countdown began everyone ran in different directions in an attempt to complete the task the fastest.

Kelsey Konishi, unfortunately, lost time as her phone wasn’t working, but it didn’t stop her as she sprinted through campus as soon as she could.

The competitors ran towards the Biology building, went into the Academic building, and even searched around the English building. They went everywhere they could in an attempt to find the items.

At seven minutes and fifteen seconds, Kristilyn Hetherington finished in first place! Next came Jersey Hays, Kelsey Konishi third, Anyah Tillman fourth with two minutes to spare, and Ahsab Alabedin last.

The nominees had a fun week full of games and dress-up days, and the day has finally come to see who the Homecoming queen will be. The announcement is tonight, Friday at 6:00 PM in the Mineral King Bowl.
