Even with some difficulties, the Hip Hop club has put a lot of effort into getting ready for the Homecoming parade.
Despite the hot weather, Malina Vaily ‘24 vice president of the hip hop club says, “I hope everything goes smoothly and the mood is cheerful.”
Vaily has been in hip hop for three years and has been dancing for 10 years. She also choreographed the dance that they will be performing for the parade.
When looking at the heat aspect of the parade, Vaily says, “It’s going to be 109 [which is] absolutely horrible and we have to wear pants too”.
While the hot temperature is going to be a struggle, the hip hop club is ready to show off their best moves.
Many people have joined the hip hop club this year. Camille Cruz ‘25 says this group of dancers have, “been preparing for about a week and a half.” It is also going to be Cruz’s first time performing for the Homecoming parade.
This year, there is approximately 27 clubs that will be participating in the parade.
The annual Homecoming Parade will take place in the Mineral King Bowl, between the Junior Varsity and Varsity Football Games.
With this, Cruz says she is, “excited to see all the different clubs and how they coordinate with the theme.”
Vaily encourages students to show redwood spirit and “come to the game!”
