Games are the new sensation of the moment, always arousing curiosity, interest, and naturally developing a desire of becoming more successful than other players. Manga, on the other hand, has the same effect on teenagers. Their main difference is that there’s no limited amount of time, and it has more dialogues to read instead of the created games for roleplaying.
Some popular games are Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Persona 5, Outlast, and Overwatch. Although, they have been left in the past recently because of the updates of new released games; the infamous Fortnite, PUBG, and others. These games are continuing to get better each year.
Webtoons are similar to Manga, with the exception that webtoons are often made by authors from Korea, and the company located in Los Angeles. They’re colorful comics, that for the most part are hooking the reader’s mind, and the only complication lies in the selection of new chapter updates. Caitlyn Stewart, an old friend of mine, thinks “That’s an oof, the anticipation would kill me.” because waiting for a new chapter every 6 or 7 days, ruins all the fun.
There are different High Schools that have people sharing their love toward games and comics, and it’s not a surprise because the world is a diverse place. All around the country, you can find people who have the same passion.
The game Persona 5, In the year of 20XX, you play as a young boy of the age 16. You were arrested for assault on a man because you were protecting a young lady from being robbed. “You are sent to Tokyo because you’re on temporary leave for your actions.” Jonathan Lynch 22′ a student from Florida, said. As you arrive in Tokyo you’re sent to a family relative’s house. His name is Sojiro Sakura. He runs a small coffee shop in the back roads of Tokyo. You go to a new school and meet a cast of characters, their names are Ryuji Sakamoto, Ann Takamaki, Yusuke Kitagawa, Makoto Niijima, Futaba Sakura, and Haru Okumura.
On the first day of school you take the subway (not the restaurant) to your school, you meet Ryuji there and find out there’s another world called the cognitive world. Through your journeys in this world you realize that the world is made of people’s desires. Once you take down the 7 deadly sins you find out there’s a place called mementos and it’s the earth’s evil desires collected together. “You meet the god of destruction Yaldabaoth, and that’s when it starts to get fun.” He explains Yaldabaoth is thought to be the god of the bible in the Gnostic Gospels of Nag Hammadi, he is often described as an insane and impostor god, who works to destroy humanity.
In the webtoon Watermelon, Simon and Uri are isolated from the sight of society and without current financial support or care from a relative. These two stray half human and half cat sisters embarked on an adventure to find their place in this world. Eventually after all the struggling each sibling must find their own path, to be separated is inevitable. Uri and Simon are hated by all the citizens, but not by Doran, her grandfather, and this self-expelled from the throne, cat prince. They were welcomed to stay in their home after the tragic and almost committed homicide of Simon. She thought stealing was excusable and there will be no price to pay, her consequences for stealing gold from a stranger made her get brutally beaten up.
The Author’s name is Rorita, her story hasn’t been officially published but it can be found in one of these categories; the Staff Picks, Specials, Today’s Hot Series, Rising Stars, LoL, Brand New World, Binge-Worthy Series, Spotlight, Romance and Drama. Here’s a fun fact, the story is called watermelon because the main character’s name is watermelon in Japanese, Uri. In the story as you go through each chapter, there’s a forest spirit who grants a wish to anyone who reaches after him and possesses a great desire, however there’s a big price to pay.

You can play as your favorite characters, Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Joker (persona 5 from above), Snake, Cloud, Ryu, Sonic, Banjo and Kazooie, and many more! “Some of my favorite characters so far are Piranha plant, Ridley, Chrom, Pichu, and Daisy.” Jonathan said. There are a lot of stages over 100+ to choose from.
“My favorite is Pokemon stadium 2, it has 2 small platforms on each side of the map and you can use them for sick combos.” He says there is a massive competitive scene for this game. Tournaments happen everyday. He is actually the 21st best player on the east coast. The best player in the world is a man called MkLeo who plays the Joker. This game is also great for big party events because you can play with up to 8 people on one screen! This game might be very addictive but it’s so much fun and I recommend it for you.
I Love Yoo by Quimchee is another webtoon you might find very interesting to read. The story takes place in Korea, where Shin-Ae the main protagonist has lived through a tough life with only having her father, both adjusting themselves to pay the bills of their apartment. Her father is an alcoholic man who works extra hours to support his daughter. Shin-Ae hates seeing him exhaust himself, that’s why she looks for a job instead of focusing on her studies. At first her life takes a twisted upside down when she went to a wealthy people’s party and spilled some orange juice on a dark haired guy who’s name is Kousuke Hirahara and ruins his expensive coat. Whether it was a curse or a blessing, Shin-Ae has found a friend thanks to that incident during the party. What about her romance life?
This webtoon was released in April 7, 2017. it currently has 96 chapters but you can always read the next update by getting free passes. The free passes can only be obtained if you get coins from the coin shop of the webtoon app, they’re nonrefundable.
In I Love Yoo, there are three main love interests you could match with Shin-Ae, or as normally people say nowadays, “Ship” one of them is Shin-Ae’s classmate who seems to have hard and very passionate feelings toward her. Of course, Shin-Ae is content with her boring and loveless life, and poor Dieter ends rejected. Yeong-Gi and Kousuke Hirahara are both brothers, but with a different mother. Currently, she has to work for Kousuke as his assistant, and Yeong-Gi is there to support her no matter if she misses a day of work or ruins her garments by unwieldy spilling coffe on them.
With 31 heroes the world’s most played game Overwatch, is still a popular game that gets updated. The story of this iconic game takes place 60 years in the future where the omnics, a group of highly advanced robots takeover. Then a group of heroes appeared called Overwatch. The group of heroes defeated the threat and became heroes of legend.
After the attack the group disbanded. Terrisom became all the time high, and a member of Overwatch named Winston sent a message making Overwatch come back better than ever to take down any threat. In this game a team of 6 heroes play against another team of 6 heroes fighting each other on different objectives such as capture the point, push the payload and defend the point. You can customize your characters by getting loot boxes which give you 5 things to dress your hero up.
A new character named Sigma was added. He plays a tank. There are 3 classes in Overwatch, Tank, Damage, and Healer. “My favorite is Tank.” Jonathan says. As your hero is out there, think about… who will you play?
If you’re planning to have a diversification of games and comics, these are the ones you would want to consider in checking out. I think games are really fun to play and there’s no way they could be dangerous to kids. Imagine games are like the knowledge we possess, but it’s the knowledge of another individual, in this case “The game developers.” You can use that knowledge for righteous things or wrong dominance. It’s all about the choices you make on how to use it.
