Last week, Mr, Coon and his FFA students showed their lambs  at the Tulare County fair, after months of preparation. In return, they all had to miss homecoming week, but they made their own fun at the fair.

Over the past few months they all had been working very hard to make sure they had the best end result. Makayla Margosian, ’19, says that “… the fair last week went really well. We had  great group of students, and we all got along really well. We all did really good with our lambs.” Margosian also touches on how she felt about homecoming week and says”…It was a little sad having to miss homecoming week, but I got to go to the game on Friday so that makes up for it.”

Each day started early at 6 in the morning and didn’t end until later in the night. They had to make sure that their lambs were in the best condition, and that they were ready to show off. There were also new members that joined FFA this year, and got to see what amazing things they do. Aidan Corley, ’21, says that “… my first year in FFA was great. It was a very great experience but there were long, hard hours at the fair, but it really paid off at the end. The people in FFA with me were great. They were all nice. They always wanted to help out and they cared a lot abut us.”

The overall results of the showings are as follows: Aubree Castillo, ’20, and Ashley Waymire, ’19, got 1st, Sophie Wasem, ’20, got 2nd, Ella Bovetti, ’20, got 5th, Ashly Wisehart, ’19, got 4th, and Makayla Margosian, ’19, got 6th.

Although they had to miss homecoming week, everyone got to bond close together, make amazing memories at the fair, and were still able to show school spirit, and make us all proud.
