With homecoming being a week away, FFA has also has been preparing for their own event too. Homecoming week starts September 10th through the 14th but Mr. Coon and his students having been preparing for their event since the beginning of the summer.
Mr. Coon, Redwood’s Agriculture teacher, said, “It’s really crazy this year, it’s kinda a perfect storm”. Fair week is held at the Tulare County Fair Grounds and Redwood FFA has been preparing to show their lambs and livestock. Karis Ramage, 20’, said they will start their day at six in the morning during fair week to prepare their animals.
Even though the students will have a great time at fair week, they are still going to miss one of the biggest traditions at Redwood, Homecoming. Makayla Margosain, 19’, said, “I’m a little sad just because I’m in ASB so I always put homecoming together and it will be my first time missing it, but I will be able to come back throughout the day.”
Regardless of missing a lot of the Homecoming preparations, they will still come on Friday to make a float. Nevertheless, they all carry school spirit in their hearts and show their Ranger Pride.
