Dumbo (2019) movie came out on Friday March 29th. Disney has recently been working on rewriting and producing older Disney movies. Later this year a redone Disney Aladdin movie will come out.
Although Dumbo didn’t do too great in the box office like previous Disney movies have, it still got a lot of applause and appreciation. Disney was able to bring back this traditional circus story and Tim Burton’s live action version collected “$45 million from 4,259 venues, falling short of expectations that anticipated a launch north of $50 million,” according to Variety.com. The cost and amount that went into producing the movie, did not get paid back by audiences.
Dumbo is a real life setting movie unlike the old 1941 Dumbo movie. The movie is about a struggling circus director and owner Max Medici puts a former star and his two children to care for Dumbo, a baby elephant born with oversized ears. When the family discovers that the animal can fly, it soon becomes the main attraction that brings in a huge audience and revitalizing the run-down circus. The elephant’s magical ability also draws the attention of V.A Vandevere, an entrepreneur who wants to showcase Dumbo in his latest entertainment venture.
The new movie has some changes from the old movie but is just as good as the old movie. The movie is both heartwarming, sad, and funny. The movie is currently showing in Tulare and Visalia theatres.
