The new Grinch movie is an upgraded version of the older Grinch movie. The 2018 Grinch movie resembles the 1966 Grinch movie.
Both movies have the same story plot but with the 2018 movie has the better animation and more appealing scenes to this generation.
The movie is about the Grinch and his loyal dog, Max, live in a solitaire existence inside a cave on Mt. Crumpet. His main aggravation comes during the Christmas holiday time when his neighbors down the mountain celebrate the holidays with a bang in their town Whoville. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch realizes there is one way to gain peace and quiet. With help from Max, the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all.
The new Grinch movie came out in early November this year. The movie was rated both high and had appealing reviews. The movie has brought in about $345 million to the box office. This went over previous box office amounts for Horton Hears A Who, Cat in the Hat, and Elf when they were released.
Megan Noronha, ’19, says “I don’t normally watch Christmas movies but the Grinch is always a classic. Although they have 3 versions, old cartoon, real life and now animation, it’s still the same fun Christmas movie”.
Although it’s already a classic the newer movie appeals to more people as being more updated version of the older version.
