Every year, the Drama department for their final holds an event called One Act. One act is where students get to write original scripts or “acts” of a play that are combined into one big play, or one act.

Jesus Felix ’23 says “I’d say One Acts are multiple variety of scenes coming together to form one normal-length play,”

Felix also says, “We don’t have a theme for our play… I started and finished my script, which is based on three hesitant criminals who want to rob a house, but are too afraid to. They try to influence each other so that one of the criminals “willingly” leads the way into robbing the house.”

“I got this idea when we were brainstorming in drama, and I bounced it off someone else’s idea.“ Felix says

Felix says that he loved writing the script because, “I felt as though my idea was pretty cool and it was nice to put the idea in my head into words”.

“I think the most exciting thing about this entire process would be the performing, because everyone’s ideas are being put on a stage for others to enjoy and appreciate,”

Evelyn Mishler class of ’25 says “I have started my script, which is based on Warrior Cat Ultimate Edition (video game) stereotypes. Let me explain; I was laying in bed around two in the morning, watching Tiktoks, and then I found it. Stereotypes for warrior cats.”

Mishler adds, “There’s one comedy scene and one dramatic scene that we have to do. So that way they can see where or what exactly you fit, so that’s how they sort you.”

Mishler continues “We have a form to fill out, it’s one page, and that way you can choose what gender you want to play throughout the performance.”

Mishler ends with “I think the actual acting process is the most exciting part. Especially since that( One Acts) was the thing I started drama for.”

Felix says “I think the most exciting thing about this entire process would be the performing, because everyone’s ideas are being put on a stage for others to enjoy and appreciate”.
