CSF helps students focus on academic achievements and community service while also allowing new opportunities. CSF lifetime members celebrate with all four high schools including CVC and V-tech. During the luncheon, each high school took their turn presenting their lifetime members. Clare Gonzalez, ‘24 CSF vice president says, “They had us all come on the stage and mention our names, where we’ll be attending college, and people we’d like to thank.” Every year the VUSD school district and COS organize this luncheon for students who are a part of CSF.

Gunter also says it took place at the convention center and celebrated academic excellence. Though CSF does focus on academics it also has a lot to do with community and helping out. Another large part of CSF is the community service work you put in during your time.

The CSF luncheon allows students to be proud of their academic achievements and their contributions to the community. Academic achievements, like good grades and academic awards, show your dedication and hard work especially in CSF when you are doing it all four years of high school.

On the other hand, community service achievements, like volunteering and helping others, show your commitment to making a positive impact in your community. They demonstrate your empathy, compassion, and willingness to give back. Community service achievements can also help you develop skills like leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. Both academic and community service achievements are important because they help you grow as a person and contribute to society. It demonstrates your ability to learn and excel in different subjects.

These achievements can help you with scholarships, internships, and future opportunities. They show that you’re not only focused on your own success but also on making a difference. Colleges and universities often value these achievements, as they look for well-rounded students who can help out their campus community.

Ashlyn Gunter, ‘24 the president of CSF says “This is a big accomplishment as you have to continually be a good student, participate in community service, and be a part of CSF throughout high school.”
