Redwood A.S.B talks about the behind the scenes of Mr. and Mrs. Ranger rally.

A.S.B. prepares for the Mr. and Miss Ranger assembly this Friday during second period, a new and exciting experience for current freshman and seniors who will be experiencing their last Mr. And Miss Ranger week.

Dating back to the 80s there has been a rally for Mr. and Miss Ranger. It’s an exciting experience for seniors to be voted in and showcase their talents. This year’s rally will be hosted outside in the bowl in comparison to all of this year’s rally´s that have been hosted in the gym. With the new scenery A.S.B has worked hard to set up.

Mrs. Aston the A.S.B. advisor says, “They have been putting committees to perform specific tasks and then for this actual rally we have a rally committee that puts everything together that goes down to the scripts and the timing.”

Not only was A.S.B. working hard but so have the nominees. “We have had dance practice every day, the nominees come in and practice during sixth period and in the end they get the opportunity to practice their talents together.” Says Aston.

The participants even get a joint talent that will be performed during the rally which Mrs. Aston says can be difficult.

Not only has A.S.B. and the nominees been busy but there are other people behind the scenes that are helping with the rally setup. Aston says, ‘’We have met with a production company who helps us get sound. They have been to the bowl and scoped out the space letting us know what we can and can’t do.”

This rally is different compared to the others, says Aston. “This one follows a very pageant format which is different from any of the other rally’s we do. The nominees are introduced and interviewed, the interview is blind. So they don’t get the questions beforehand, they just go on stage and hope for the best. They also get an opportunity to perform a talent.’’

These talents seem like the most exciting part with another member of A.S.B. Alexis Seals ‘27  says , “I am really excited to see all of the nominees’ talents because that is the main focus of the rally and I think everyone is really excited to see that.’’

Though setting up in the bowl light be difficult Seals has confidence in her rally commissioner and says, ‘’We are setting it up in the bowl this time so Its going to be a little bit different than are rally’s from earlier in the year but I think that our rally commission is going to make it look really great.”

Just to start a little argument here is it Mrs. Ranger or Miss Ranger because I am pretty sure that Mrs. stands for the status of a married woman. So unless any of the nominees are married and I don’t know if that is incorrect let’s start the debate here I think it’s Miss.
