Redwood students got ready to hit the streets of Visalia to show off their floats that have they worked so hard on to represent the clubs that they are in. Every club will be there including ASB, FBLA, and Gay Straight Alliance etc.
Tania Jiroudi, ’19, the president of FBLA, has decided to go with the concept of wall street. ” I wanted to mix the theme of homecoming which is about famous roads and FBLA is all about business; so that’s how we came up with the concept.” Not everyone was able to participate in the float because there was a limited amount of people that could join. FBLA does not have a budget, but we are planning on making posters after school for the decorations.”
Camilia Garcia ’21, will be working with the class of ’21 float, ” We have decided that our concept would be getting big named streets and putting them on the float and it represents that we are all going to be successful.” ASB has no budget and they are buying everything with there own money. ” We are only allowed 15 people to work on the float, so some weren’t able to work on it.”
Andy Villareal, ’19, is a part of the Gay Straight Alliance club. “Our concept is rainbow road from Mario Kart.” Their float is a representation of a destination that is virtual and it also show their support for the LGBT. “We only had 15 spots and unfortunately we and to take 4 spots for our leadership.” They do not have a budget, but they try to get donations from members within the club.
The parade went great and looked amazing but more importantly, people had fun making the floats and all being a part of watching something go from nothing to a beautiful idea that came to life!
