Bye Bye Birdie Costume Design: Seams Behind the Scenes
Redwood’s drama department recently put on an outstanding show, Bye Bye Birdie, featuring classical, vibrant costumes. According to Mrs. Galvan, head of the department, they don’t make a lot of those costumes, they are mostly reused or loaned from other schools. “This show, Bye Bye Birdie, there were 3 dresses that were made specifically for the 3 students playing Birdie’s biggest fans,” she says.

Jazz Band Mesmerizes 8th Graders with Their Tunes
On Thursday, February 16th the 8th graders from the VUSD middle schools came to visit Redwood for the annual 8th grade visit. Many performing groups are out in the Mineral King Bowl performing for the 8th graders as they walk in, groups such as Dance Force, cheer, drama, and band were out performing.

Redwood High School’s Bye Bye Birdie cast shares excitement and nerves as they prepare for upcoming performance
Rehearsal for Redwood’s Bye Bye Birdie began and will be performed February 2nd-4th. However, with theatre troubles along the way, some of the actors have been overheard feeling nervous about their upcoming performances. To see how the actors really felt, we interviewed some of the lead cast.
