Choir is performing a Winter Choral Concert at the LJ Williams Theater on December 16th.

Redwood Choir Students are looking forward to this performance.

BJ Wainwright, ‘24, talks about how choir has prepared for this concert and what he is looking forward to in this upcoming event.

Wainwright says that choir “prepared for this by practicing every single day and we’ve been practicing for over a month.”

Wainwright named a few of the songs that choir will be performing.

He says, “We are doing a lot of different songs, we are singing a holiday sing along, ‘The Lord Bless You and Keep You’, and ‘Angels from the Realm of Glory’”

When asked how he feels about performing in the concert, Wainwright says, “I don’t care that much about being in front of an audience because we’ve practiced it so much and Mr. Carillo works us really hard.” Wainwright adds, “so I’m ready for it.”

When asked what he will think the best part of the performance will be, Wainwright says, “I really like our ‘Angels from the Realm of Glory’” He thinks that “it is a really fun song to sing”

Wainwright also adds on that he “also thinks the Holiday Singalong will be cool because last year the parents sang along too, and it’s just a bunch of classic Christmas songs.”

Savannah Vargas ‘24 is also a part of Redwood Choir.

Vargas says, “We have been practicing every day running our songs and fine tuning them.”

Vargas is looking forward to “listening to all the solos that will be in between the choir singing.”

Vargas says that the best part of the performance will be “towards the end when choir sings ‘The Lord Bless you and Keep You’.”

Vargas adds that during this song, choir “surrounds the audience with candles”

When asked how she felt about this upcoming concert Vargas says, “I’m really excited because this [concert] is a little bit longer and more interactive with the crowd”

Vargas adds that since they will be performing Christmas songs, the concert will be really “enjoyable and entertaining.”
