The girls wrestling team has had many wins, just a few losses, and have gotten better as each week has progressed. They have put in time and effort, and are ready to conquer any matches that come their way. Recently, they placed second in the annual Orange Cove Invitational over Winter Break.
The team is 5-1 altogether, when they have lost, they always learn from their mistakes, “In every match, we learn… I think this season is going to go really well. It is the best team I have ever been on.” said Jocelyn Cha, ‘22. And their record shows for it, they are a very good team and hopefully they can go far.
The Orange Cove Invitational was huge success for the team, “We got second place as a team. We had a lot of girls that placed,” said Diana Figueroa, ‘19. This is a team that works hard and always strives to succeed. And as hard as they work, they will continue to do so.
Figueroa is a senior and is on her third year of wrestling and competing. “My sophomore year, I was still new, and I didn’t really know much. But my junior year I got a lot better. Even this year, I am still getting better,” said Figueroa.
The girls have grown as a team and always encourage and help each other. They push each other to their full potential. So, Rangers out there, come on out and support girls wrestling!
