In the recent game Redwoods boys JV water polo competed against Porterville last Tuesday the 28th and dominated with a score of 20-5.

The team played well but could have had better offense. They had a great counter attack and were always on defense. They got a lot of passes in and worked it around.

What kept the players going through the game is knowing that the team depends on you to do your best so you want to work hard and not let them down says both Blake Sorensen 20’ and Clark Hobbs 20’.

The motivation that player Kylen Gray 19’ has is the drive to win by even more and the amazing pep talks the coach, Casey Sorensen gives them. The motivation that Josh Alviso 19’ has is that you are trying to keep up and prove yourself on the team so that maybe next time you can get more playing time along with wanting to show that you are capable of doing something.

All players that we talked to agreed that the best part of playing is winning and to do that in Alvisos’ and Grays’ opinion is getting to know each other better, “If we know each other a little bit better than we are going to play better together as an overall team.”

They all agreed that the coach is amazing. He is a little hard on them sometimes, but that is because he is always pushing them to do their very best each game and practice. He definitely knows what he is talking about. Along with the pep talks, he is always sending them inspirational quotes to keep them going. They wouldn’t be the team they are without their coach.
