The book, ” The Inheritance Games” by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is about A girl, Avery, who out of the blue gets a billionaires fortune after he dies. She has never had any contact with him or knew him in any way beforehand. Avery is A girl in poverty whos’ life drastically changes in a second when A dead billionaire decides to play a final game beyond the grave.
While reading the book I was very intrigued until the very end. Every chapter contained some element of a twist that I did not see coming. Barnes clearly knew what she was doing when she wrote this story. No matter how hard I tried I could not even come close to figuring out what would happen next.
The dead billionaire, Tobias Hawthorne, always loved puzzles and riddles. He thrived on them in fact. Some of the family members who were meant to receive his fortune even believe that Avery is his final puzzle for them to solve. Other family members on the other hand believe that Avery is a con woman who has no business in their lives.
I give this book four stars out of five. I give it this review because, if I am being honest, the whole story built up the ending just to make it a tad to easy of an outcome in the end so I was a little disappointed when the ending was not as elaborate as the rest of the story was. However, I would definitely recommend this story because it has a touch of everything. It has the thrill, a touch of romance, high stakes, and plot twists at every turn.
By the end of the book Avery becomes a stronger woman and reinvents herself without giving up who she truly is like other characters in the story did because of money. Because of that I feel that the story has strong morals that are definitely illustrated to the reader. This book is definitely a fun read and I would most definitely recommend if you are looking for something like that.
To put the cherry on the cake for this book, Jennifer Lynn Barnes is a New York Times bestselling author so you have to know that the writing is amazing!
