Jaxon Griffiths, ’25, says, “We just need to move forward and find our confidence and get in a groove offensively.” Griffiths is a second year Varsity player and is looking to make a big impact this year for Redwood Baseball.

Griffiths also says, “Some bright spots against Edison were our defense and pitching both playing well.” The Defensive side of the Rangers is looking promising going into the season as with pitching with pitchers Cruz Rodriguez, ’24, and Erik Rico, ’25.

Outfielder Noah Matta, ’24, is a senior going into his last baseball season as a Ranger. He says, “We’re all disappointed with the outcome of the first game because we know what we are capable of.” Matta goes on to say that the team collectively needs to have better at-bats and improve on the offense.

Matta mainly wants the Rangers to prove themselves on the offensive side of the ball.

3rd Baseman, Right Hand Pitcher, and Shortstop, Erik Rico, ’25, says, “It was good to get that first start out of the way and to get the season rolling. Obviously, we would’ve wanted to win that game but it’s early in the season and struggles are expected

The Rangers will be at Home against Madera at 3 on Tuesday, February 20th. The Rangers are looking to bounce back and get their first win of the season.

Rico goes on to say, “I want to give this team all the bullets I have and give my best performance for this team.”
