Cowhide being the biggest event for Redwood, the seniors take in the final game and celebrate Cowhide Spirit week and look forward to their final football game.

Even if the rivalry between the two schools looks like it is strained with tension it is an exciting tradition for both Mt. Whitney and Redwood students.

Sophia Diaz, ’26, ASB president says, “My favorite part about the rivalry is how it’s civil, yes we make a big deal about it, but we mean it with a good heart and in a playful way.”

As students celebrate from the stands, the players on the team prepare for the most anticipated game of the year.

Enrique Segura, ’26, a player on the football team says, “It’s just a lot for the week… We have our pre-first we’re working out everyday in the morning, we got practice and all that. We just have a lot of outside distractions I guess you could say.”

The football team has to put a lot of work into their training to be prepared for Cowhide and since the team has a lot to do it makes them tired but ready.

For many seniors , it’s more than just football it’s a final memory of community and tradition and Redwood seniors are ready to make their final memories at Cowhide.

Julianna Torres, ’26, a cheerleader says, “All of the memories I make as like in cheer and in ASB because we’re like always having fun and laughing… But, there’s just so many memories that we have during Cowhide week that are made and I think I’m just going to really miss being a part of everything.”
