Recently we caught up with JV boys soccer and how their season has been going. The team has a record of 5-4-5 and hope to win their last game against Mt. Whitney.

Otto Bahr ’21 (captain) says “Our depth has changed from last year. But personally, I’ve had some off days, but most of the time I’ve been doing pretty good.” When the team had a loss Bahr says “we have a lack of communication”. As the season is ending, Bahr wants to “work harder, win these last few games, and prepare for next season.”

Aidan Corley ’21 (captain) says, “I feel our season is going pretty good, but we tend to mess around a little too much, when it comes to game time we all focus and play our hardest.” As a captain, Corley’s job is to “lead the team and keep everyone on track for what our goal is, which is to win league.” As the season is coming to an end, Corley believes “we can always work harder as a team. Right now, we’re not really playing as a team, we’re all playing our own game, but we need to work harder to play with each other.”

Gavin House ’22, says that one thing he will miss from the team is that they are really close with each other. “I’m going to miss practicing and playing with them everyday. I only see a lot of them on the field, so I will miss hanging out with them after the season ends.” One of his first experiences he had with his team was going to the Clovis Tournament and winning. “I thought we would be undefeated after that, because we beat Division 1 teams.” He feels that as the season comes to an end, the team needs to be strong and play as a whole to get the wins. “Overall my team has done very well except for a few games, and I think we will be even better next year.”

Lastly, we talked to Jackson Ford ’22. He said that as the season is ending, he will miss the team the most and going on the bus with them. “The tournament was my favorite part of the season.” He believes that El D was his toughest opponent. Jackson feels that he did not play to his potential this season. “The team has been doing pretty good. We have a few things that we could work on, and then we will be golden.”

Come support the JV boys as they playtheir last game of the season at Home in the Mineral King Bowl next Wednesday, February 6th, where they will play Mt. Whitney at 4:30pm. Then following that, the Varsity boys will play on their Senior Night at 6pm.
