At Redwood’s first football game of 2019, Ranger band fell down at the end of their performance, which caused confusion for the student section.
Band states, “it was part of the performance, but it was not finished when we went on the field.”
The theme of the field show is “power surge” according to Jackie Marques, ’21, “the band is gaining power through their performance and becomes really big until it burns out. During the football game, since the show was not initially finished, when the band fell down the story was not projected clearly to the students.”
In future football games, the band plans to add a tower that builds up with an alarm, and then fall down to create the power surge. Ayana Sutton’21 States that “after we fell down, we were supposed to get back up and gain power again.”
Since the routine wasn’t completely finished the band walked off the field after they fell down. However the band is planning to make their routine bigger with more ranger pride in the future football games.
