Winter break is a cherished time for students, offering a much-needed rest from an academic life.

Engaging in different activities during this break provides enjoyment and resets the mind and body, preparing students to return to school feeling refreshed and ready to take on the next challenge.

Sophia Contreras, ‘26, shares one of her most relaxing moments during her winter break.

Contreas says, “My most relaxing part of my vacation was when me and my family went to the beach in Mexico.”

Lily Iverson, ‘27, shared her adventures of staying up till midnight on new Year’s with her family and other special memories.

Iverson says, “My most exciting part of the break was heading to Tahoe with my family. We went skiing and stayed up super late to celebrate New Year’s.”

Winter break presents an excellent opportunity for students to engage in activities they might not have time for during the school year.

Whether it’s skiing in the mountains, building snowmen, or simply enjoying a cozy evening by the fireplace with a good book, these activities offer a calming and even exciting change of pace.

Valeria Rojas, ’27, shared her idea of the most relaxing part of the break which she felt was a very big change of pace from school days.

Rojas says, “Over break, I got to enjoy time with my family and friends, which I thought was super relaxing. We went to see the sunset and also had a fun time in the mountains together.”

By the end of the break, students often feel more balanced and ready to tackle their academic challenges with a refreshed mindset.

Winter break is a time for reconnecting with family and friends, which is really important for emotional health. The holiday season is often filled with gatherings, celebrations, and shared meals which gives students a sense of comfort.

Winter break presents a precious opportunity for students to participate in fun activities, reinforce relationships, and focus on meaningful things in their social calendar.

By taking advantage of what winter break provides, students can improve their overall well-being and tackle their academic tasks with refreshed energy and positivity.

Contreras adds to this by saying, “Yes, I do believe that winter break is an important time to spend with either friends or family away from school.”
