Aryel Chavez, ’24, says, “Our game had a rough start, we were down by 11 in the first two minutes, but we quickly snapped back into it and took the game into our control.”

Chavez says, “I think the whole team did well, the win was a team effort, and everyone on the team contributed something to lead us to our win.”

She says, “Something we can try to improve on is we could start by trusting each other a little more and understanding our roles.”

Zoe Alvarado, ’25, says, “Our game was definitely a well worked game. We were up against a almost 6’6 girl and we held our guard and pushed to the very end and came off with the win.”

She says, “Personally I think I did good but I could’ve done better. I was nervous but in the end I played and never gave up and that’s what counts.”

Alvarado says, “I think our season is going to go pretty well and competitive with the tournaments and teams we’ll be facing through the season. Hopefully we will go far into playoffs this year.”

Emma Vargas, ’24, says, “We did good and played hard as a team. Our bench was there and had some energy to keep us going through the tough game.”

Vargas says, “We can definitely improve on coming out of halftime with more energy and keep our fouls down along with playing our game with the speed we like.”

She says, “I think I did good defensively and I started off slow on my offensive end but as the game went on I slowly started getting back into it.”

Brooklyn Tayo, ’25, says, “We did really good being that we won and we all worked well together for it being the start of the season. Everybody had a job to do during the game and they all did it.”

She says, “Sanger’s team was definitely a tough match. There was a really tall girl who was hard to stop, but we pushed through and made it work.”

Tayo says, “From the five games we’ve had so far I think we’ve worked really well together. With this being a new team I thought it would take longer to develop, but it’s like we automatically clicked. All the girls work really well together.”

Cassidy Ashford, ’26, says, “The game against Sanger went really well. We started off a little rocky, but we finished strong.”

Ashford says, “Sanger was a tough team to play and they had one specific girl that was absolutely amazing and had to make us work to win.”

She says, “I think our season this year is going to be way better than last year, it’s just the start of the season and we’re already working well together which is better than before.”
