For the Halloween season, CSF [California Scholarship Federation] had the opportunity to decorate their cars and pass out candy to kids. This gives them community service hours and a fun interaction experience with Visalia’s community.
CSF advisor Mrs. Viera says, “It’s the cutest thing, and the kids get really into it and like to decorate their cars.”
Each car had a theme where teens participating in the event could go all out and decide what they wanted to do to their car.
Hayley Urena, ‘26, “There were a lot more kids than we thought there would be so it was really fun.”
This year, the event was very successful among the Visalia community. Families showed up around the same time, and many of them started to pile up in line.
Beth Musto ‘26, whose first year was a part of the event says, “I thought it was really cute, and it just made me smile.”
A few cars people pointed out were a Cookie Monster car, a Frozen car, Toy Story car, and a Jungle-themed car. The Jungle-themed car was made by the CSF officers.
Urena says, “[My favorite part was] seeing the parents be so grateful that everyone was so sweet.”
Makayla Fleming, ‘26, says that since it was her first time participating in the trunk or treat, she enjoyed it especially because she and her friends can drive now. She wishes that she had done it in the previous years.
Fleming says, “Getting more involved for stuff like this, if you want to do it, go for it.”
