As we enter the dark room, turning the corner, stopping as we hear the doorbell ring. Walking towards the door, asking who is there, but in horror movies, you never ask who’s there. Opening the door and BOO, it’s your opinion!

The most common question asked about the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas is, is it a Christmas movie or is it a Halloween movie? Or maybe it’s both?
Ms. Portillo, who is a long-term guest teacher for English, believes that The Nightmare Before Christmas is a Christmas movie.
“I think it’s an unconventional Christmas movie because the title is literally The Nightmare Before Christmas and it’s Jack dressing up as Santa Claus, which is the concept of the whole movie is about Christmas and not Halloween.”
Jasmine Rameriz, ’24, believes the movie is a Halloween movie
“I say it’s Halloween because in some parts of the movie, it is scary, I only have seen half of the movie, but I do think it’s more of a Halloween movie.¨
Mrs. Feehan, who works in the English department, believes it’s a Christmas movie.
She says, “I only watched it once and I believe that it is more of a Christmas movie because he turns into Santa Claus.”
Mrs. Baffo, who works in the English department, thinks it’s a Christmas movie too and says, “It says it in the name, it takes time before Christmas and falls into the Christmas category, and it’s all decorations of Christmas.”
Irene Cuevas, ´24, believes that it’s a Halloween movie. She says it’s a Halloween movie because of the aesthetic it shows, so it falls under the Halloween aesthetic.
Valeria Nava Vazquez, ´24, says, “I say that it is more of a Halloween movie because it gives me more of a spooky and dark vibe like Halloween and Christmas is more of a cheerful and colorful vibe and this movie is not really that¨
Andrew Estrada, ´25, says, “Ï say it’s both Halloween and Christmas but more Halloween because it started off as Halloween and we see more Halloween aesthetic compared to the Christmas stuff” So in his opinion it’s a Halloween movie.
Lizbeth Moguel,´25, says it’s a Christmas movie
“I say it’s more of a Christmas movie because they start decorating and changing everything to a Christmas theme.”
