The Sequoia Plaza Flower Shop has recently been taking notice, especially at Redwood! Some of Redwood High’s students bought bouquets and corsages for this year’s Harvest and absolutely loved them! Michelle Hornburg recently took a huge role in owning this flower shop. She says, “Being in charge is a big commitment and takes a lot of time and effort out of my day”.
Michelle also says, “I have always wanted to own my own business and I have always really enjoyed growing my own plants and flowers”. Michelle lives up to these words since her shop is bright and beautiful from the smiles on our students faces from their purchases.
Michelle’s favorite part about her new business is, “Getting to purchase all the products for my customers and watching to see excitement on their faces”. She also says, “It was time for me to go back to work. As my kids are getting older, they are becoming more dependent”.
The Sequoia Plaza Flower Shop was built in the 1950s and has to this day stayed a flower shop. It has been a trusted shop in our community that in the utility room holds keys that once belonged to churches, restaurants, and individuals. Our community here, in Visalia, trusted this shop to let themselves in and deliver flowers.
Michelle’s last thoughts on her new shop is, “I would like to provide once again, a feeling of trust and respect that a shop owner can give to their community. A place where one can go and receive the best flowers and Custom Service around by having quality in my products and employees. I believe that is the foundation of success.”
For the upcoming dances, go to the Sequoia Plaza Flower Shop downtown, talk with Michelle and buy some gorgeous bouquets and corsages! She would love to talk with you and will set you up with the prettiest flowers at the dance!
