Mystery, love, adventure, “The Invisible Life of Addie Larue” follows an incredible journey of a young girl, with a mind filled with curiosity.

Born in the 1600s, she grew up in a small town. Her life was the same every day. Wake up, chores, sleep, repeat.

Slowly, she saw the people around her grow. They were once children holding vibrant eyes, minds filled with imagination. Now they were married off to strangers, carrying children, holding droopy eyes and lifeless souls.

Addie wanted to explore, discover, and adventure, unlike the rest. She didn’t want to be strapped down for the rest of her life in marriage, but instead travel and live the meaningful existence she had dreamed of.

She wished she would have this someday, but always be careful what you wish for.

In an attempt for more time she makes a bargain with a dark soul. While granted the wish to live forever, she is cursed by being forgotten by every person she meets.

Through centuries this young woman lives a lonely life, with not one remembering who she ever was or is. She is lost in the universe, until one day she meets a man who remembers her name.

This compelling story deserves 5/5 stars as it takes you through a rollercoaster of hardship, resilience and love.

It was a beautiful read sucking you into a whirlpool of suspense. There was dramatic character development, and I was constantly wanting to know more. It allowed me to step into a new world of imagination, feeling myself live another life.  There is much detail and the use of description and language causes you to feel empathy and pain with each character.

I highly recommend this book written by the #1 New York Times bestselling author, “V.E Schwab.” She takes one through a magical journey.
