After many months of waiting, Kanye West’s 10th album, ‘Donda’ is out now.

Donda got hyped easily. During the many months of waiting for the album, teasers were being released. One of the many teasers was one of the songs featuring Sha’Carri Richardson called “No Child Left Behind.

With all the teasers being released, there were many assumptions about the album.

The story behind the album’s name drew a lot of fans.

A couple of months after the teasers were released, the world was told there would be a new album. Kanye West mentioned the album would be in honor of his mother, Donda West.

Tragically, Donda died due to heart failure that was caused by multiple postoperative factors from cosmetic surgery on November 10, 2007. Kanye West wanted to honor his mother’s memory and pay homage to the impact she had on his life.

Kanye West’s music makes people feel many different emotions. Based on the events Kanye West went through, most students can relate to him.

Based on these many different perspectives, I would encourage you to take the time and listen to this album. It will leave you feeling multiple different emotions at once.

As one may be able to tell, Kanye West is very influential and inspires people to be true to themselves.

Mariah Villareal

“My favorite song is ‘Off the Grid’. I’d say that’s my favorite song because the beats of it gets me in the groove. I can actually be myself when I listen to it”

“I feel like it got a lot of fame really quickly. I want to listen to it, but I’ve heard a lot of backlash about Kanye himself, so I’m kind of iffy about listening to it.”

Holland Phillips, ’24

Mia Angulo

“I think people should listen to ‘Donda’ because this album has a lot of meaning behind it because of all the things Kanye was going through personally in his life. I really like the song ‘Hurricane’ because it has a good rhythm to dance to.”
