Redwood Rangers had their week-long Spring Break starting from April 3-10.

During this time, students were given a break and had a chance to do things with their families and friends.

Diego Rodriguez, ‘25 said he had a really fun spring break. He is a part of the Redwood Ranger Choir and went on a week-long trip to New York for a state choir concert.

He says the trip offered many interesting aspects, such as participating with his class and growing closer with a lot of people.

Rodriguez was able to learn about New York. He says his favorite place about New York was being able to go to as many places as possible and view the scenery.

When discussing New York, Rodriguez says, “My favorite place has to be Times Square and Central Park since it’s just so pretty.”

His favorite Easter tradition is eating a bunch of good food with his family. Rodriguez says his family usually does an Easter egg hunt to celebrate, but this year they didn’t because all of the kids grew up.

Over break, Rodriguez missed school a bit because he wasn’t able to see his friends, but he was glad to have a break to freshen up and not be stressed about school work.

Gerardo Orteizyado, ’26 says he had a fun spring break doing a bunch of different things.

Some of the places he visited were the aquarium in Monterey Bay and San Francisco.

He says his favorite parts of the aquarium were being able to experience it with his family and getting to see all of the fish and animals.

His favorite tradition during Spring Break is having an Easter egg hunt with his family, but he also likes to barbecue.

Orteizyado’s favorite Easter food is anything off the barbecue and Reese’s Peanut Butter eggs. He says he celebrates by having a bunch of friends and family over and being outside.

Lilliana Schmierer, ’24 says she enjoyed the break and doesn’t wish for it to be longer or shorter.

One of the things that Schmierer says she missed about being at school was being able to go out to eat lunch with her friends.

Throughout vacation, she hung out with family and worked. She says her favorite thing to do is buy confetti eggs and crack them on her family members heads.

For Easter dinner, one of the only things Schmierer looked forward to eating was her grandma’s homemade pasta salad. She says her favorite Easter candy is the Starburst jelly beans—specially the red ones.

Many students were able to take some time off of school and enjoy the break. Now, Rangers have returned and are remaining focused on the last marking period of the school year.
