On February 6, 2020, 7 seniors signed National Letters of Intent to further their athletic and academic careers post high school in front of friends and family.

Skylar Ford – Azusa Pacific University

Ford, a Kinesiology major, verbally committed last fall to Azusa Pacific.

After an official tour of the campus and meeting with the coaches. Ford says, she “really liked the community aspect on campus … and you can meet a lot of different people.”

In her 8 year career, her parents have been a strong supportive influence.

Brandon Andrade – Cal Sate University Bakersfield- Track and Field

Andrade is a sprinter and hurdler who wants to major in Psychology.

As a NCAA Division I Roadrunner, he plans to compete in the 400 meter hurdles, 110 meter hurdles as well as the 400 meter sprint.

Andrade says that “what they are offering me financially is unrivaled to how much they are supporting me. Plus it is closer to home still.”

Andrade attributes his success over the last 8 years to Coaches Banks and Stewart. They helped him navigate the recruiting process and were invaluable.

Alex Roberts – San Diego State University

Roberts is a swimmer and plans to major in business management.

As a Division I Aztec Warrior she plans to compete in the 50 yard backstroke, 100 yard butterfly, and 200 yard Individual Medley.

Roberts says that “it has a different coaching style than most colleges. They are a smaller and all girls team, so the coaches are able to focus more intensely on each individual and their strokes to get a more specific training.”

She would like to thank her high school coach, Walter Bricker, for keeping her on track and encourage her to keep pushing herself even when times get tough.

Madison Tamayo – Cal State University Monterrey Bay

Tamayo will be continuing her volleyball career as an outside hitter for the Division II Bobcats of CSUMB as well as major in kinesiology.

She says that “the coaches wanted me to play for them just as bad as I wanted to play for them and that was important to me. The coaches and the other girls were so welcoming and I fell in love instantly.”

She would like to thank her family and friends for always being there to support her as well as pushing her to be better.

Hudson Walker – California Polytechnic State University

Walker was able to finalize his commitment to Cal Poly San Luis to further his football career at the Division I level and education.

He made the decision to be a Mustang because they were a standout in academics and the best fit for his football career.

Hudson says, “I know this collegiate level is hard to play at because it takes an extreme amount of dedication to your craft to make it there.”

He would like to thank his family, friends, teammates and coaches for his successes.

Evan House – Cal Sate University Long Beach

House made the decision to commit play soccer as the forward position at NCAA Division I and further her learning in kinesiology.

CSULB stood out the most because “I talked and really got along with the coach since we both have similar mentalities.

House gives thanks to her club coach Jasara Gilette for pushing her to her limits as well as coach Vieria for having so much belief and confidence in her throughout the years.

Samuel Olsen – San Jose State University

Olsen is continuing his football career at the NCAA Division I level at San Jose State as well as further his education in environmental science.

Olsen is extremely excited for this opportunity and says, “it is so hard to play at [this] level because now everybody on the field is good…it’s playing among the best.”

He would like to thank his family, teammates, friends and coaches for helping his get to this point in his football career.

The Redwood Rangers continue to strive to do amazing things and work hard to further their education and athletic careers for years to come.
