It is a known fact that after winter break each year, some students might have a schedule change for their second semester. For example, if freshman students didn’t take health or college and careers classes during summer school, they have to take health during the fall semester and college and careers during the spring semester.

For some students, it has been a hard time adjusting to the new changes in their schedule, but for some, it was an easier experience.

Bailey Krauss ’25

Bailey Krauss, ‘25 had college and careers with Mr. Wright during the fall semester and when she came back from winter break, she switched to health with Ms. Sanchez.

“One of the downsides of switching is now walking from the far side of main to vista,” Krauss adds.

Krauss says, “I liked college and careers better because I had it longer than I’ve had health, but health seems fun and easy.”

Ariana Garza, ‘25 had the opposite of Krauss. She took health during the fall semester with Ms. Sanchez, and for the spring semester, she is taking college and careers with Mr. Wright.

Garza says, “I like college and careers better, and I’m looking forward to taking drivers ed, so I’m closer to getting my license.”

Garza talks about how adjusting to the new change isn’t as hard but she explains how, “classrooms are on the opposite sides of the school and the work is different.”

Even though students may not like the new change, they all are adapting and learning to like it.

Marcos Cardoza, ‘25 had health during the first semester and has college and careers now. He is adjusting to the change very well.

“[College and Careers] is good so far. I like the teacher and the work is pretty easy. I definitely like it better than health,” Cardoza says.

Robert Reader, ‘25 likes college and careers because the activities are much easier than the activities in health class.
