Anahi Lua, Morgan Castaneda, and Klaryssa Munoz-Gonzalez are Redwood Varsity Volleyball Seniors for the 2022-2023 season.
As the ‘22 – ‘23 volleyball season comes closer to an end, we celebrate the class of ‘23 seniors as they finish up their last couple games as a Redwood Ranger.
For these 3 seniors, each one has a different memory that they chose to be their favorite, Klaryssa Munoz-Gonzalez ‘23 says, “My favorite memory while playing for Redwood is throwing my first varsity ball before the game.” Morgan Castaneda ‘23 says, “ Probably the Clovis High Invitational, we beat a bunch of really good teams.” lastly Anahi Lua’s ‘23 favorite memory is, “Probably every game watching my team play, it’s an amazing experience.”
Lua ‘23 has been playing since the 6th grade. One thing she wants her teammates to know is, “I wish my team an amazing season and to remember to always stay positive and that I love them very much.”
Munoz-Gonzalez ‘23 has been playing volleyball since the second grade. She says, “I would not have made it through the season without them. We all support each other and the bond I have made with all of them is one like no other.”
Castaneda ‘23 has been on fire this season, with a KPS (kills per set) rate of 4.6 and a hitting percentage of 0.344. Castaneda ‘23 plans to continue her volleyball career after high school, she says, “I’m hoping my visit to CSU San Marco’s goes good, or UC Merced.”
The Redwood Varsity Volleyball team was able to secure the win for their senior night beating El Diamante 3-0, these girls are now 6-0 in league! Redwood is looking forward to finishing their ’22-’23 season as EYL Champs, and to go far in playoffs.
