The Redwood Varsity Golf season has come to an end for some but a few are getting ready for Valley.
Alister Batchman, 23’ says, “My short game has improved this year a lot compared to all the other years I have golfed, and I have gotten more consistent around the green.” Batchman adds, “I have been playing golf off and on since I was probably around 8 but never took it seriously until I was in highschool.” He says, “My grandpa started me on the game of golf and really got me interested and kept me playing.” Batchman when asked about how he fixed his game this year says, “I tried to get more consistent in all aspects of my game this season because a lot of the times that’s what I struggled with, was being inconsistent and so consistency really helps you improve scores.” Batchman wraps his interview up with his feelings and thoughts on how his season ended and says, “ I feel that I left a lot out there and I didn’t get to finish how I wanted to.”
Jaxson Mayo, 24’ When asked about his performance this season he says, “My scores have gotten a lot better, I would say that’s because I stayed consistent through the summer and practiced on improving.” Mayo says, “A personal goal for me this season was to break 80 and I did it.” Jaxon Mayo also explains why he enjoys golf so much, “Golf is special to me because it keeps me busy and I love sharing my experience with new golfers.” He adds by saying, “My brother inspired me to play golf because he is a pro golfer.”
Rylan Turner, 23’ says,”My game has improved a lot this year because of the time and effort I have put into this game.” Turner also says, “I am hoping to make my swing more consistent and repeatable and make my short game unstoppable.” He brings up his main objective for the year, “My personal goal for this year is to break 70, 3 under and stay in that area for college golf at vanguard.” Turner says, “ I got inspired to play golf because of my dad and started playing my freshman year of highschool.” Turner is one of the last golfers still competing and says, “ I’m preparing for the valley by practicing on the golf course everyday.”
