Redwood Women’s Volleyball kicks off their season with 2 wins against Frontier High School and Clovis East High School. 

The Redwood Women’s Volleyball team dominated in their last set with a score of 25-6. Audrey Hyde ‘24 says, “I feel great, we performed amazing last night and that was a really great game to go into Clovis East because I’m pretty sure they will be great” 

When asked how her team will differ from last year’s team, Hyde says, “I think we’re more dynamic as a team”. On Tuesday the overall final score between Redwood and Frontier was 3-1.

Payton Short, ‘25, starts off by saying, “It felt awesome to play with these girls, the excitement and drive was so great to be a part of.” When asked about the team’s chemistry, she says, “It is amazing already, and it is only going to improve throughout the season.” 

The Redwood Volleyball Team continued their streak on Thursday, taking a win against Clovis East with a score of 15-8. 

Taylor McElree, ’24, starts off by saying, “I feel like I did pretty well during the game. The score was very close all 5 games, but we did end up winning in the last set.” When asked about how she can prepare for future games, McElree says, “Giving my all at practice and just working really hard to be better as a team!” 

Kennedy Cutler, ‘24 says,When going into the game against a 8-1 Clovis East team, “We were all excited to play a good team that’ll push us to be better. We went into the game confident and humble knowing that we could lose.”

Cutler says “I think we did really good.We struggled in some areas but then came back and made up for it. It was our first game that had gone to five sets for most of us, so I’m proud we pushed through and ended up getting the win.”

This weekend Cutler and her team will be playing in a tournament. She recognizes that other players may have to step up if a player needs a break, she says, “I feel this team is very versatile.if a player needs a break or anything happens if feel there’s always someone who can come in for them.”
