The Redwood Rangers’ JV Football team starts their season strong, with 3 wins and 1 tie in their 4 pre-league games.
The Rangers beat Centennial with a final score of 21-14, Tulare Union with a score of 20-0, Tulare Western 20-16, and tied 8-8 in their game against Clovis North.
Julian Ochoa ’25, is a linebacker for the team. This is his 2nd season playing for JV. He says as a team they have both, “decent offense and decent defense, but still have a lot of work to put in.” He says a highlight from their game against Tulare Union is when he and his teammate, “Scored a scoop-and-score.”
Jordan Arreola ’26, plays quarterback. Based on the games they’ve played so far, Arreola says the team has, “strong defense” and are working on “improving their offense.” Moving forward, Arreola says their goal as a team is to, “hopefully go undefeated.” He says his favorite part from the Clovis North game is how well their “team worked together overall.”
Brennan Gonzalez ’26 plays free safety as well as wide receiver. He says his personal goal is to “lead the team in interceptions” moving forward. His favorite part overall of the three games he’s played is the “catches I’ve had in every game.” Gonzalez says their biggest struggle from the three games, was their offense trying to “score against Clovis North”, but that in their most recent game against Tulare Union, their “offense was a lot stronger.”
Brody Lebow, ’26 plays strong safety. A highlight of his from their most recent win against Tulare Western is his “interception at the end of the game.” He says that he is, “proud of his team. We’ve played some pretty competitive schools, and I’m excited for the rest of the season.” He says he’s, “confident in their ability to continue winning.” Lebow says as a team moving forward, they plan to keep up their winning streak by, “staying focused, and not taking any teams too lightly.”
