This Thursday, Redwood golf is competing in a meet against various Visalia golf teams; here’s what some of the girls had to say.

Regan Richards, ‘23, is a varsity member of women’s golf. She says, “I’m really excited, and I hope that I do well tomorrow.” Richards has high hopes for the team on Thursday because of how much practice they’ve been putting in. She says, “I think we are very prepared, we go to the course pretty much every day, and we are always in good spirits.” Richards and her team are hopeful for the match tomorrow, and we are wishing them good luck!

Redwood came in second place for the Women’s Golf meet, here’s what some players had to say about their playing. Brielle Alvarez, ’22, said, “I did really well, recently I’ve had some struggles getting my swing and score consistent, and Thursday I ended up shooting at 45, which was my goal!” She goes on to say, “My strategy for the game was to stay positive, golf is about 90% mental.”

Varsity player, Rylee Santiago, ’22, thinks that her team did very well on Thursday. She says, “I feel like my team achieved exceeding their best efforts.” Santiago explains how since golf is such an independent game, “The team really has to be on the same page with the coaches’ expectations.”

Noelle Carrillo, ’24, says, “We shot pretty good scores and even though we got second place, I think we played well.” Carrillo goes on to say. My strategy was to bogey every hole and hopefully get a 60 in the end.” She thinks that in the future the team should go out on the course more and play more rounds, to get even more prepared for meets to come.

Santiago adds, “Many of the girls put in the work in order to succeed as a team.”
