Coming off of a 21-14 loss against Lemoore, this very talented Ranger squad is looking to end their season on a massive note, starting with beating Golden West on Friday night. With only 4 games left this group is looking to give everything they have and finish the season with 4 consecutive wins.
When a team starts losing there can often be some confidence lost. That is not the case with this team. Wide receiver Ashton Ibarra ‘22 still has plenty of confidence in his group and he believes they can still accomplish something special.
Ibarra says, “I still am going into every game confident because I know this group of guys is talented. We just have trouble finishing, but we get better each week.”

Ibarra goes on to say he expects his group to finish the season very strong. The positivity of Ibarra just shows how much belief there is in that locker room, despite the struggles these boys still know they have the chance to do something very special.
Last week the Rangers were facing a challenge in the form of star running back Karson Everett ‘22 being banged up and only playing for a few plays. Everett says that it was not easy being on the sidelines. “It was hard not being able to help my team, I wanted to play very badly but I couldn’t.” Everett’s presence will no doubt be felt, and it should help the team a lot.
Quarterback Frankie Alvarez ‘23 likes what he’s been seeing from all the boys in practice the last few weeks.
Alvarez says, “I feel that we get better every practice but we just have to minimize mistakes and prevent the other team from having big plays.”
Tight end Kolby Howard ‘22 knows that his group has to limit the mistakes. Howard feels that the key to eliminating those mistakes is the focus. Howard says, “We need to get locked in and focus on every play and focus on getting our job done.”

Being that this game is an inner-city rival game, fullback Ty Potts ‘23 feels that this game might be a little higher in terms of intensity. Potts says, “I feel we’re gonna have a little more motivation to just keep pressing but it’s going to come down to us each doing our job.”
It’s going to be fascinating to see how this game plays out and watching the intensity level that these boys are playing at.
Wide receiver Christian Daniel ‘22 feels that to secure the win this week his team has to be aggressive. Daniel says, “We need to be aggressive for all four quarters.”
Coming into Friday’s exciting matchup, defensive tackle Derek Puckett ‘23 wants to make a big impact. Puckett says, “I just wanna be uplifting and motivating. I think that’ll put us in the right mindset to be able to win.”
Defensive end Kai Preisendorf ‘24 is absolutely ecstatic! He feels that his team has practiced very well and can’t wait to get on the field. Preisendorf says, “our team is ready and I can’t wait to play and I know I’m not the only one.”
This is a pivotal game for the Rangers if they wanna finish the season on a good note finding success against Golden West is incredibly important.
