Redwood Hip Hop held their stand on club day September 4th in the quad to let any students interested join the club to get them to experience new opportunities and get to learn the background about the club.

Mr.Joshua Matsumoto, the club advisor, says, “I hope to create core memories for all those who join,”

Hip Hop club comes with many benefits of being in it besides dancing but learning different types of culture dances and their history.

Matsumoto says, “More opportunities to explore the 5 main elements of hip hop: DJing, MCing, Breaking, Graffiti, and ,the most important, Knowledge.”

This club has been inspired by many things, Matthew Mertin, ’26, a student representative, says, “Having a outlook for more people at Redwood other than it just being a class”

Matsumoto says, “[Were looking] into our Homecoming day parade performance,”

The Hip Hop club doesn’t have requirements to join, Mertin says, “Be willing to dance and get out of your comfort zone.”

The club can lead up to performing for large audiences. Matsumoto says, “We are trying to get a spot in the dance show, some showcases for student graffiti [and] art, and an end of the year performance as well,”
