With the Redwood football season getting underway, there have been some standouts on the field for Frosh football. Brody Preisendorf ‘26 and Jason MacDonald ‘26 have been showing potential to lead a strong frosh team to an East Yosemite League (EYL) title this football season.

Brody Preisendorf, Wide Receiver and defensive end, is the brother of star defensive end Kai Preisendorf ‘24 and says, “I have been playing football since 4th grade” and how, “It all started when my older brother Kai started to play football and as the younger brother I wanted to follow his steps.”

Preisendorf also says how, “the start of the season has been a little rough,” but says, “there were just a lot of little mistakes that we need to fix.” After 3 games, the team has gone 1-1 with a small win over Centennial 20-19 followed by a tough loss to Clovis North 23-6 where he was the only player for redwood with a touchdown. They won their third game in a huge fashion over Tulare Union 46-7 showing their fire power.

Preisendorf says how, “The Clovis North game was hard,” and says, “If we didn’t make a lot of big and small mistakes we would have lost by less or even won.”

Jason MacDonald, starting Tight End and Long Snapper, says, “Our team goal is to show that we can compete and beat a few big name schools around here.” MacDonald has been playing tackle football for 3 years and says how they can reach those goals by, “continuing to push ourselves to be better every day.”

MacDonald also says how, “I feel like we do a great job on both sides of the ball,” and Preisendorf says how, “The real goal is to work out all the small mistakes so I can be the best player for JV or Varsity next year.” They both share the same goal of working hard on and off the field to be the best version of themselves.
