The Rangers are now 11-1 and are first place overall in the Central Section.
Quarterback Emma Crisp ‘29, put on a show, having eight total passing touchdowns and showcasing strong scrambling ability; she has 1,577 total passing yards so far this season.
This was great for Crisp, as it feels like all the hard work that is being put in is finally paying off.
What Crisp believes she did best was finding the open teammate and staying calm.
Crisp believes she could have done better by making more accurate throws, throwing better, and making better decisions.
Crisp is going to prepare for their next game against the Green School by resetting and treating her body well the whole game.
Crisp’s goal for the rest of the season as a player is to make the right throws and find her teammates.
Wide Receiver Avah Winstead ‘28, had an impressive performance, having three receiving touchdowns showcasing her downfield presence and speed.
Winstead prepared herself for this game by thinking about where she needed to be at the right moments, and when she got there, she played it out.
What Winstead believes she did best was communicating with her teammates and simply being there when she needed to be.
With the Rangers taking on the Green School next, Winstead will prepare herself by eating well and being mentally ready.
Linebacker Tori Ochoa ‘27,disrupted the run and showcased her elite footwork against Dos Palos; she is now tied in the Central Section for most sacks with fourteen.
Ochoa practices her footwork outside of school as she trains with her track coach, Brandon Dotson, who is the owner of Visalia T.S Elite.
What Ochoa believes she did best during the game is staying calm, though she was getting blocked a lot, which sucked, but at the end of the day she was trying to pull as many flags as possible and learn from her mistakes.
Ochoa believes she could have done better by getting more sacks and pulling more flags, but other than that, she believes she played to her best ability.
What Ochoa hopes to accomplish against the Green School is to get more sacks, more flag pulls, and she hopes to get a safety or an interception.
What head coach Michael Wright II believes the offense executed best was adjusting; they were missing some players, and they were not expecting that.
Wright believes there were some miscues on defense with missed opportunities for interceptions; they are going to need those in close games they will play later on in the year.
The Rangers are ranked number one in the Central Section, but to Wright, “Rankings are just rankings. Nice to see your name there, but not something we’re concerned with. There’s playoffs, we’ll play whoever is there and do our best,” said Wright.
For the game against the Green School, Wright hopes to see, “A little more crisp game and execution; make sure we make adjustments and give great effort.”
Wright’s goal for the team for the rest of the season is for them to keep improving, as there is a lot of season left and a lot of room to improve.
Wright’s goal for the coaching staff for the rest of the season is to, “Keep coaching, don’t let score be a distraction; just focus on helping our athletes grow as athletes and people,” said Wright.
Wright had more to say, “Thank you to the Gigantea, all the writers, and Mr. Miller for continuing to cover all sports and giving our athletes recognition. We’re all very grateful.”
