The Rangers are now 12-1; they reign as first in the Central Section.

For head coach Michael Wright II, pitching a second straight shutout was thanks to a good job by, “Everybody. Obviously, our defense has been a really strong suit of our team. We’ve been able to score points, but they’ve done a really good job of just giving themselves the opportunity to continue to be in really good positions and hold those good positions. So we’re really proud of our defense,” said Wright.

The team had some offensive miscues with dropped passes, interceptions, and missed passes. Everybody’s defense is different in its own way, so Wright believes it takes a little bit to get going. The Rangers started off well, but over the game, the Green School defense adjusted, and the coaches in general did not do a great job adjusting, and it’s something they need to work on.

What Wright believes the team did best in this game was that they ,“Stayed with it four quarters, the situation where I think we were really outmanning them, so I think it’s just not losing focus. They did a decent job of that, and there’s still a lot to work on; we’ll just keep getting better.”

The Rangers having two games in two days is something they are used to, as they play up to three teams a day at times. Staying on top of recovery is huge.

Quarterback Emma Crisp ’29, put on an acceptable performance, completing 15 out of her 28 passes for 202 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. Crisp now has 1,968 passing yards on the season, which is the second most in the Central Section

Linebacker Tori Ochoa ’27, showcased her elite footwork and pressure once again against the Green School; she now has seventy total flag pulls and seventeen total sacks, both of which are second most in the Central Section.

The Rangers’ next opponent will be the Maroon School at Golden West on Tuesday, September 29th.
