On Saturday March 25th Redwood Varsity Baseball took the field and won 9-1 and 8-0 for their double header game against Porterville.

The Rangers were more than prepared for this win against Porterville, at practices they mostly hit, work on defense, and prepare for whoever they are facing.

Easton Rogers ’24 says, “I think we were more than prepared and the results showed that.”

Rogers says that, “Throwing bullpens and working on my mechanics and flat grounds,” are a few things he did at practice that helped him prepare for the game.

As far as the whole team improving Rogers says, “I think we just need to take more seriously because sometimes we have a little too much fun.”

On his own Rogers focuses on his mentality and focuses on getting into the game mentally.

“Everyone was just having fun and having a good time, so it was just a good day for baseball,” Rogers says.

Cash Rico says he prepared himself by hitting in the cage, working on his swings, and just be ready to play the game.

Rico says, “I think these things did help me at the game and it helped my team in many ways also.”

“We were definitely prepared for these games we got a good week of practice in and we just came in and were ready to go,” Rico says.

As far as the whole team improving, Rico says, “Base running is the one thing I know we need to improve one.”

“Winning the double header was definitely the highlight of Saturday,” Rico says.
