At Redwood High School as homecoming approaches ASB has many plans and ideas for this month.
Homecoming is one of the most important events at Redwood and ASB has the opportunity to share their upcoming projects.
The ASB president Sophia Diaz ’26, says “This year to stand out from other years we’ve really brought our spirit to everything. For homecoming we’re adding new things this year to the week’s lunch time activities. And also football games. Our biggest idea to stand out from other years is to incorporate as many kids as possible even if they aren’t in ASB. Getting student participation is always amazing and important to make our year amazing”.

Diaz also mentioned “My goals were definitely to make a space where everyone felt included and their voices were heard. I love the kids in ASB this year and I knew that this year was going to be great as we have so many hard workers. This month our goal was of course to bring amazing football games and rallies and I’ve felt like we’ve done that perfectly”.
One of the students in ASB Roberto Correa ’28, said “So we prepare weeks in advance, so we’ll have two workdays and those two workdays. We’ll get all the posters ready, we’ll prepare the rally script and we’ll have mostly everything done. And for the nominees, we have a special committee to work with that”
ASB’s freshman president Carson Woomer ’29, added “There’s a bunch of events coming up we have homecoming and harvest and a bunch of cool dress up days. It’s sometimes hard to plan for a bunch of events but it’s really just about putting the work in and it comes together. It’s super cool seeing it all come together after your team has worked so hard on something for others to have fun and react too”.
Mr. Siqueios the ASB advisor says “My goal is to have our ASB class be a cohesive team throughout the school year. There are challenges and unseen obstacles every day, and it’s our goal to attack them with a plan, confidence, and belief in one another. I want our leadership students to remain positive and learn to work effectively with each other and all students on campus”
Mr. Siqueios also said “We can do this by acknowledging that we’re all on the same team every day. We’re going to face obstacles and criticism, but we can overcome anything with a plan and belief in one another. We must never forget we’re a team, and we must celebrate our victories and continue to work on the characteristics of a leader.”
Overall September is a very excited month with homecoming events to come from the ASB team.
