On the Redwood campus, the Red Ink Club is a place for storytellers and writers to have their work shared and spread to the student body.

Luke Mueller, ’24 is a short story/fiction author and one of the presidents of the Red Ink Club.

Mueller says that the Red Ink Club is “a place for all kinds of writers to come together and hang out, share pieces, and see a community of people”.

All writers are welcome at the club, Mueller says that he works towards putting the name of the club out to the student body because “there are a lot of people that enjoy writing that might not have a place to go” and he wants to be that creative outlet for them.

The Red Ink Club is going to be putting on the “Writing on the Walls” writing contest this upcoming Spring. In the contest, students submit their own pieces of writing to Ms. Link, the club advisor.

The writing is then anonymously judged by students in the Lit and Expression classes.

The highest-rated pieces are posted on the walls of buildings around the Redwood campus for everyone to see and appreciate.

When it comes to sharing writing pieces Mueller says that “it’s always good to have another eye look at it”, to both give feedback and enjoy the work. To read an example of Mueller’s work, click here.
