For years, Redwood has had many traditions during Cowhide week and one of the favorites is the door decorating contest. This particular tradition involves the whole school making the campus even more full of spirit.

After talking to Mr. Orosco, is a history teacher here at Redwood. He describes himself as “the reigning, defending, 2-time cowhide door decorating champion.” For the four years he has been here, he has participated every year. He says he loves, “just the whole concept of Cowhide itself.” Cowhide is known for being fun, exciting and memorable for all students.

Mr. Orosco always goes big and is known for the door decorating aspect of Cowhide and as of the end of last week, the history teacher is not quite sure what his class is going to do this year. He is expecting every teacher and student at Redwood to participate because “We have amazing staff and students here, and the creativity here is amazing!”

Every year Cowhide is filled with fun, games and many different events leading up to the big game on Friday night to get the hide back where it belongs. The spirit week filled with different dress-up days is there to get everyone even more excited about one of the biggest football games of the year.

This year’s winners, which were announced during the post-Cowhide rally Monday morning, included: Most Spirited- Mrs. Cheatwood’s door, Most Creative- Mrs. Adams’ door, and Best Overall was won by Mrs. Feehan’s door.
