After the big 28-7 Cowhide win over Mt. Whitney last week, the season continues with the Redwood football team playing at the Kingsburg Vikings in the first round of DII playoffs. The Rangers are the 10th seed in the bracket and the Vikings are the 7th seed.

This may be the last game of the season but for some Rangers it may be their last game of high school. Seniors Raul Larios and Cristian Moreno share the emotions.

Defensive Tackle #90 Raul Larios, ’25, says, “It’s very nerve racking but I am very confident we will pull out with a win and move onto the next round.”

Defensive End #51 Cristian Moreno, ‘25, shares he feels nervous, but also believes they are going to come out with a win. Moreno says, ”This isn’t going to be our last game.”

Going into the game the players strategize on ways to win their game.

Larios shares Kingsburgs strength: “they run various different formations, but I think our defense will come and shut them out.”

Moreno adds, “Our D line needs to step and play hard to stop those runs.”

Hoping for a win and not making this our last game Offensive Lineman #60 Cristian Carlos, ’25, says “I had a good time my last four years, but I don’t think this is going to be our last game because I am very confident in the team.”
