Today at the Mineral King Bowl at 7:30 p.m., Redwoods Varsity Football takes on Monache. So far in league, Redwood is 2-0, while Monache is 0-2.

Chase Dempsey, ’24, says, “I’m feeling pretty good about playing them, our team has done really well so far in league.”

Dempsey is a defensive end for Redwood football. This game is the first time Redwood has faced Monache all season. Dempsey says, “They run an offense that we haven’t seen before but we have a couple of new checks that people are learning right now, as well as different formations.”

Dempsey also says,  “Our defense, secondary, defensive backs, and safety have gotten a lot better at coverage which will help us against Monache.”

Wide Receiver Moses Burk, ’24, says, “We have been playing well so far as a team so hopefully we keep it going.”

Burk says, “We have improved on our offense just trying to make less mistakes.”  

Jimmie Burk, ’26, is a running back for the team. He says, “ I’m excited for this game. We’ve improved on blocking with the Offensive line and we’ve also improved our defense.” 

He also says, “I’m also starting this game, so I’m very excited.” 

This week’s game was supposed to be played Friday but was rescheduled to today due to officials not being able to ref Friday.

Kai Preisendorf, ’24, says, “I personally feel great, a bit weird being a Thursday but I still have no doubt that this will affect our team. We will still go out and perform to the best of our abilities.”

Preisendorf is a Defensive Linemen, Long Snapper, and Full Back on the team. Preisendorf says, “We have been working on playing together as a unit and running one as a team.” 

Preisendorf says, “Since It’s my senior year every game is going to be special to me, so I’m excited.”
