This year’s spring sports had an extremely successful season which includes the victories of Softball, Baseball, Girls & Boys Swim, Boys Golf, Boys Tennis, and Track & Field. They have won 7 out of a total of 8 League Titles. Here is a brief summary of the post season accomplishments for each team. Stay tuned for the print edition where we will expand on the full season accomplishments.
Individually:
Softball – won second place in the WYL to Hanford and finished their season on Tuesday against Kingsburg, 3-0 in DII Semifinals.
Baseball – won 1st place in the WYL, although they lost in the first round of the playoffs.
Boys Golf – won League Title, and Tyler deAsis qualified for the Section Championships.
Boys Tennis – also won the WYL championship, made it to the second round of playoffs, losing in the court of finals but they did have 4 people who went to the Section Championships in the singles and doubles, named Tony Kim, Colton Hansen, John Nguyen, and Nolan Yang.
Boys & Girls Swim – won League Titles, went on to the Section Championships and the girls finished 5th in the Division 1 Championships and had 4 girls who qualified for the State Championship (last week at Clovis West) named Alex Roberts, Meagan Ridenour, Skylar Ford, and Katie Sullivan.
Boys & Girls Track and Field – both won League Championships and participated in the Central Area Championships (with the boys in 1st and the girls in 3rd). A total of 42 student athletes participated in the Central Area Championships and 29 athletes participated in the Section Championships in Clovis. 2 students, Brandon Andrade and Ryan Redden qualified for State this weekend. The Boys won Valley for DII.
