ASB hosted a picnic to close off LOVE Week on February 15th at lunch and in the gym.

This has been a tradition for 4 years so, the students here at Redwood know they are loved and appreciated.  Ms. Aguilar, the ASB teacher, says she feels the picnic and LOVE week in general is “a good refresher for the school year.”  A committee, consisting of Christine Santos and Colin Watamura, was looking over the whole week to delegate tasks to other students.

Sadly, it was raining during this year’s Love Week Picnic so it was moved inside the gym. Everyone sat on the bleachers listening to music and enjoyed their food and time with friends. It wouldn’t be a picnic without some food.  Many people brought money because there were churros, Tacos Galacticos, Tony’s Pizza, and Panda Express.  Top favorite vendors was Tony’s and Panda.

ThAnyah Tillman ‘21 felt that it was “nice to have the rain but, it ruined the day. Many other students felt the same way such as, Colin McCarthy ‘22 and Cade Batchman ‘19 but, they also loved being in the gym and felt it was a lot of fun. Noah Estrada ‘22 says, “It brought down a lot of what we were gonna do but, I feel like we compromised and made fun out of what we had.  That’s what I like about Redwood.”

Rain changed a lot of ASB’s plans but many positive thinkers changed the day around and in the end it all worked out.
