On August 8, CSF announced on their Instagram page their new leadership.

CSF is an important club here at Redwood. It allows for students to gain access to scholarship opportunities, community service, and volunteer work. It is advised by Mrs. Vieira.

Kaylene Garza ‘25 is CSF’s new President. She says, “It feels pretty good, honestly. I can’t wait for this year. I think we have such a good team, so I can’t wait to show what we can bring to the meetings and everything.”

She says CSF is an important part of Redwood because, “we kind of need a student in charge sometimes of big things, so we can be in touch with what’s actually going on on campus. We get to see the inside because we’re students too. So, you  kind of see what students would like, or what students wouldn’t like. And I feel like we can bring that inside into the club and I like working with that.”

Vice President, Karli Rasmussen ‘25 is feeling excited about this new year. She says, “I’ve been in this club for three years now. This is my 4th year and I love what this club brings to campus. I just love this club. I want to make sure that people know that I can help them, either by signing up or helping them through service projects or even just by talking to them. I want them to know that I can be a good leader and help them out with anything that they need.”

She was motivated to apply for a role because of her sister.

She says, “My sister actually did it and I think she graduated ‘22. She was the president that year, and so I think CSF is special to me because it brings a community together that likes to work hard and likes to do good.”

Eric Navarro ‘25 is the secretary of CSF. He says his role is important because “I handle a lot of, you know, the things that we do after school, so events, service and whatnot. I pretty much handle that. But I wouldn’t say that anyone has too much of a specific role. It’s a big group thing. So one person’s job isn’t really one thing. We all kind of help each other in every aspect.”

He and the other member’s goals are relatively the same. He says, “ For meetings and events, I really want to grow the amount of members that we include. I want there to be more opportunities for everyone to want there to be more opportunities for everyone to get involved and have a little bit more volunteer hours and service that they could go on their transcripts. And overall I just want to make it a better experience and have more people join the club.”

Elle Pinheiro ‘26 is the junior associate. She says, “My role is important to CSF because I am able to speak for my classes’ expectations in terms of CSF. I am able to communicate ideas that have been shared with me by CSF members to the team.”

She believes CSF is special to her because of factors like, “bringing the student body of Redwood together in a positive way and offering several beneficial opportunities to all members, which I think is such a unique opportunity.”

Lastly, Jenna Landin is also a Junior Associate. Her motivation to join CSF and be a member is: “I’ve been in CSF since freshman year. And my mom was I think she was an officer in her junior year. I always thought it was fun and I just wanted to join it.”

CSF is a valuable club. Landin says, “It’s special to me because I just like the club and it looks good on your college transcript. It’s a good club to join and it can help you just get ready for the future.”
