As Redwood football starts their season, they welcome in new Varsity players, two of them being Isaak Mendoza ’24 and Martin Perez ’24.
Perez has been playing since he was 6 years old for the Rangers and he’s always wanted to play on Redwood’s team. He has high expectations for their season, “I expect us to win, I expect us all to work hard as a team, and mostly for us to form a brotherhood”.
Mendoza has been playing since he was 8 years old for peewee teams and started high school playing for Redwood. Mendoza is also involved in Redwood’s wrestling team. He has high expectations for himself, “I want to play better myself and play better than last year”.
They are excited to play two different teams, Perez says “I’m excited to play El Diamante this season and win” and Mendoza says, “I’m excited for Cowhide”.
Both players are ready for the season, Perez adds, “It’s always been my dream to play for Redwood”.
